Sorry John, I've been very erratic lately but I wanted to say these last couple of posts have been sparkling, really sensational. Such a palette.

Your first here really grabs me. Technically it's a mundane photo, but it's mundane taken to a sublime conclusion, ha ha. It's the kind of pic I always looked out for. I call it the valkyrie shot - wherein one might not unreasonably expect valkyries to ride out from behind the clouds accompanied by the appropriate music etc. (and proper valkyries too - no brick shithouse Brunhildes in my fantasy). Anyway, whilst they might be mundane, valkyrie shots seem to occur very rarely. I only have one. And it's not as nice as yours neither...

Never mind, you don't mind if I pinch it for the haiku blog do you? There's lots in it and I think it'd serve well. But not just yet, I'll have to put in one of P's travel shots first. They're very good. Some new ones went up yesterday. And I'll have to pick one will I? Jesus.

Off I go now.

Cheers nobody and splendid. No worries about the erraticity (is that even a word?) I expect you have been quite busy lately and very good it is too. help yourself to the photo, it was a bit dramatic that one. I only had time for a few shots of the cloud before the light suddenly changed and it lost all that yellow colouring. I have been enjoying P2Ps photos very much lately. Lots of interesting details and some amusing signs and items for sale. All jolly good stuff though isn't it? I am impressed by the amount of trees and there are some quite beautiful looking houses and locations. Fantastic!

I wonder what Valkyries are actually supposed to look like? I'll have to check them out. Sometimes these things aren't what we expect. I know that The Sirens were originally supposed to have the bodies of birds, or sometimes just the legs of a bird. It would make a pretty weird painting anyway, lured by a singing bird with a human head...a bit too weird maybe.

Good luck choosing a photo - it's going to take some doing.

Choukran Reem. This was a hail and rainstorm which just missed the town. The sea was calm though the air was cold, the strong wind being higher up, as the cloud moved very quickly.

I like the time of dusk a lot for walking in, it is a quiet time and I enjoy the changing light before dark. We had such a good run on winter sunsets that I thought it would be nice to put more photos up than I usually do.

We had snow laying on the high ground yesterday and have colder air coming tonight for more widespread snow and ice, as proper winter weather finally arrives. A week ago it was so mild that I found a large sleepy wasp waking up on my shoulder, it must have dropped onto me from somewhere. He was gently escorted from the premises.
