Cheers Reem. It's one of the biggest ranges of sand dunes in the UK, nearly all of it grown over with rare plants. It is an extremely arduous place to walk around unless you stay to the main paths. Of course I have always been one for getting off the main paths, something which can make life a bit difficult sometimes...

The Maid thought I was being unobservant by not noticing the things at my feet but I pointed out to her that I was actually watching the arriving weather and gauging if a cloud front was going to rain on us or not, the clouds moving at 50mph gave us about ten minutes or so warning. I was also attempting to work out which way the tiny paths were going and suchlike, so I think I was being observant really.

The photos look quite calm and serene but actually it was very noisy due to the roaring of the sea and the 40 to 50 mph winds. I almost got blown over on some of the bigger dunes. All part of the fun really, that and getting all the sand out of my eyes.

Thanks again and all the best to you too Reem.

The colours are forceful without being bright and garish. I imagine it was pretty cold, no trees for shelter.

The last one seems to have a path that leads to the sun

cheers

Thanks aferrismoon. Yes it was quite cold. Shelter in these places can be found only by getting out of the wind and hunkering down behind a steep edge of dune, just a small ledge will do it. Just getting out of the wind helped a lot, it was the rain that was more of a problem but all worth it to spend some time in such a place, a different reality without electricity.
