Devon in June and July

Plenty of rain here lately so everything is green and big although summers as grey as this one has been for a while now makes me think of other countries and possibilities.

I have been experimenting in a small way with solar power using the cheapest lights that I could find to see what the technology is like now at this affordable level and I find myself impressed with the results. Although the lights do vary a lot in brilliance from night to night they are perfectly good for hallways or other places that don't need too much light. In theory these lights could be used all over the place which makes me wonder why there is not more interest in setting these sorts of things up. It looks pretty easy really.

Hi John

Thanks for your visit to mine :-)

What fantastic pictures! Like you I would prefer to use solar power than mains. A method of repowering my digital camera which I use a lot through solar would be a good start, instead of leaving it for hours attached to the mains. Perhaps I should look into it :-)

I too have been pretty busy doing other things recently and I think that is fairly general around the blogosphere. Perhaps it may be something to do with Summer time giving us the opportunity of getting out more.

I'm thinking of doing a big push on Exmoor landscape and places to go so could be more active in coming months.

It's good to hear from you. Keep in touch :-)
